When
diesel generators operate in low-temperature environments, the following points should be noted:
1. Choose the appropriate diesel: In low-temperature environments, the viscosity of diesel will increase, the flowability will deteriorate, which can easily lead to poor atomization and fuel supply interruption. Therefore, diesel that is suitable for the ambient temperature should be selected, such as -35, -20, -10 diesel, etc.
2. Preheat engine oil and diesel: Before starting, the engine oil and diesel should be preheated to ensure that the engine oil reaches the appropriate working temperature. Avoid using a blowtorch or open flame to heat the engine oil to prevent engine oil deterioration and aging of the oil pan gasket.
3. Check the cooling system: In low-temperature environments, the cooling water is prone to freezing, causing damage to the radiator. When the temperature is below 4 degrees, the cooling water should be drained; If antifreeze is used, there is no need to drain water.
4. Replace air and diesel filters: In low-temperature environments, the frequency of replacing air and diesel filters should be increased to reduce engine wear.
5. Check the battery: Before the cold season begins, the electrolyte level, viscosity, and voltage of the battery should be checked. If the diesel engine is not used for a long time, the battery should be moved to a warmer room.
6. Low speed operation before starting: After starting, run at low speed for 3-5 minutes to increase the overall temperature of the machine, check the working condition of the lubricating oil, ensure that all switches, power supplies, and valves are normal, and then put it into normal operation.
7. Anti freezing measures: In extreme low temperature environments, anti freezing measures need to be taken, such as using anti freezing lubricating oil, heating insulation, etc., to prevent the generator from freezing.
Through the above measures, it is possible to effectively ensure the normal operation of diesel generators in low-temperature environments and extend their service life.
